Welcome to the board rricebuyer. When it's hot weather I usually fish the deeper structure, I would try around the pilings that go out into 15 ft water. Also fish the channel side of the treelines near the deepest water areas. Also try the game and fish structures in the lake. I usually throw a roadrunner or beetle spin and retrieve it over the fish shelters, and tightline jigs in the deep water around the pilings and the treelines. Good luck and post your results for us. Hopefully the river will be out of the lake by the time you go, as the river flow is slowing down some.

Thanks stumpjumper, I have fished the lake several times but couldn't ever find the right combination. I have watched this board for several months now and it is great.

rricebuyer......Got a question for you. What does the first ''R" stand for in rricebuyer. It doesn't stand for RED does it? Just messin with you. Welcome aboard!

Moore's bayou used to be good at the mouth if water was running out. if running in it put them on the outside edge of the pads. Probably hasn't changed. if there is no current you're screwed. speaking of bass.

The first "r" is because I stutter a bit.........No, seriously, it stands for rough as in rough rice buyer.

I figured it stood for Rough. If you ever change your mind and want to start buying red rice, I know a few farmers that could hook you up,lol.:D Do you have any predictions on what the rice market is going to be doing in the near future?

Kinda dull the rest of the summer but next season looks very good unless someone throws a monkey wrench into the gears again.

It was looking real good last year until "they" all of a sudden find some GE rice.....lets hope it doesn't happen again. Farmers need a break.

What is red rice? I have a few buddies that almost got killed by a farmer who caught them sneaking up on a flock of geese eating his red rice. He didnt want them disturbed and was out making sure they were left alone.

Its pretty much a wild rice that can come up volunteer or you can get it in your rice seed. It basically comes from not rotating the crops enough and farmers get docked for having it when they take their rice to the mills. There are different varieties of it here in arkansas, and it can cross with conventional rice. Arkansas has had it for a while now. In the Delta Farm Press, they were talking about how it is just now showing up in California and how big of a deal they are making about it.
