Braid to mono leader

The Alberto knot is my favorite knot for this purpose. Very clean and passes thru the smallest of guides. Pic is this knot using 4# fireline and 6# fluorocarbon leader. The guide is a 3mm micro guide I build with often and this knot works great. Attachment 383151Attachment 383152

Good knot. I use the double uni when my fingers will cooperate.

Good drawing of the knot, Tom. Like SR I’m not sure if my fingers will cooperate anymore, but it’s a real good knot. At this point I may be down to a triple surgeons. LOL

What is that covering the knot in this pic? Super Glue?

Good info. Thanks for sharing. I've always used the double uni knot without any issues whatsoever... but have been thinking about trying the Alberto knot.
In fact, I have about 14 crappie rods serviced and ready to re-spool for fall and winter crappie fishing... I'm going to try this knot braid to mono for a while.
Is that wax or superglue that I see coating the knot?? I usually use superglue... but that looks more like some type of wax-like glue or rubber cement.

There is no covering. It is as I tied it. Looks like it has a covering but I added nothing. May be some moisture because I always wet the line before I sinch it tight.

Nowadays, I never let the line-to-leader knot pass through the guides. This has made my fishing much easier.

I have used the double uni many times also. Don't know for sure but I suspect the Alberto may have smaller diameter ever so slightly.

It can be difficult to tie especially if a wind is blowing. I have some really old fingers too Bob.

Yep, I think of the nice bunch of knots from my fly fishing days and the number is down to a few, but they’re all good ones.
