Wiring 36 volt ultera6

I just bought a used 22 ft fishing toon. It came with a 24 volt motor guide ft control that I will be selling. I am replacing it with a 36 volt minn Kota ultera. I was going to use 6 gauge wire but I cannot find any plugs that will accept the 6 gauge wire. Those of you that run 36 volt trolling motors what size wire and what type plugs were used. Is 8 gauge heavy enough for the 36 volts thanks

8 gauge will work unless it is a real long distance from motor to batteries. If that is the case a Marinco plug and socket will work with one of these

NOTE: Wire length is not one direction, it is total length both directions. If your trolling motor is 10' as the crow flies from the batteries, your wire length for the table is at least 20', plus add in all curves, routing through/over/around the deck, storage compartments, etc.

Hard wire and be done.

I just solder a lug on each lead and bolt them together. No more connection problems.
