24V Trolling System, Want Some Golf Cart Batteries

This wind has been wearing me out the past few days, and killing my batteries. I had gotten some group 31 Exides but I just don't think they are the answer.
It's hard to stay on these fish when the trolling motor goes out in 3 hours!

So, with a 24V system, what kind of batteries do I need?

Trojan 1275 golf cart batteries from Cunningham Golf Cart in Calvert City. I've worn mine out once in 1 1/2 years and that was after 9.5 hours of almost constant running.

You can also obtain an additional set of batteries and run a separate set of wiring to the trilling motor ending in an extra female end. When first set wears down, just unplug and re-plug into second bank of batteries.

A cheap investment and good tool to have is a load tester(20-30 dollars) to be able to evaluate and know their capabilities.3 hours doesn't sound very healthy for group 31's.
I run group 29's on a 19' Skeeter aluminum all day and get along alright.Just a suggestion....Another possibility could be moving up to 36v..

I am with Snagged 3 hours run time on a new group of 31's doesn't sound right to me. How hard was you running them?

I know your glass boat is a lot heavier then my tin ranger but I was on Enid last week and pulled 6 plus hours on a set of 2 year old 29's and ever killed them and that east wind was kicking pretty good. I was running the TM on 4-6 the entire time pulling from 1.5 to 2.0. I would have thought that the 31's should have done better than 3 hours. But if not it sounds like the golf cart batteries are the way to go.
How much bigger is the foot print for them and how much weight do they add to the back of the boat?

The Trojans mrdux mentioned are 7w X 13l X 11h and weigh 90lbs ...

That's not much more than what a 29series Everstart weighs (85lbs) ... but the golf cart batteries are about 3" taller (L&W are roughly the same).

My last tin boat I could go 6 plus hours on a pair of group 27's.
My new crappie sled is a little heavier!
