Pretty Water / Sahoma
Does anyone ever fish Sahoma or Pretty Water? I know Sahoma is partially drained right now because they are working on the spillway. I fish there on the indoor dock at Sahoma most of the time. Just wondering if anyone that fishes there have some pointers. it seems like 10inch or above are few and far between.

I do not fish there anymore used to many years ago, I had a friend who fished there a few times each year up until about 2 years ago his experience sounds a lot like what you are describing; always caught dinks never any real big fish this was same with crappie and bass.

Growing up in Sapulpa we would catch a few hundred between my dad, brother, and myself. It was a 50/50 on dinks to keepers. Haven't fished it in years since moving away.

Have fished there at Sahoma a lot. Try the back dock fish around that log sticking out of the water. Big Crappie there far and few in between but there is some biggins in there.

Thanks for the info everyone! I am going to try to go this Sat Morning. Just have to go pick up some minnows from Woody's. The bait shop there wont have any until late March probably.

Hey guys, headed to Pretty Water tonight, anyone been recently that can throw a few pointers my way? Nothing but dinks last week but saw a guy pull out a couple of 1.5-3 lb largemouth and further from us were people pulling in a few catfish.

Not sure how I'm just now seeing this thread but I fish Sahoma A LOT. As has been mentioned the lake is full of dinks and if you are stuck fishing from the docks the back dock fishing around that tree is your best bet for keeper size fish. her is a pic of 1 from that tree a couple weeks ago. Attachment 264773 The wind changed to a light north wind (which about the only way to fish in front of that tree without getting hung up) for about 15 minutes in which time I caught 3 of these big females then the wind changed again and it was back to catching dinks. one tip for out there is light weight jigs 1/64 ounce jigs will outfish anything else 90+% of time. the above fish was caught on a 1/64 jig head with a bobby garland itty bitty in electric chicken about 4' under a bobber.
Oh also the lake is back to normal and the boat ramp is open.

Thanks, we just got back, hardly anything was biting tonight, I've never had fishing that slow there and I've been fishing both lakes for over 20 years. Did catch a gorgeous channel cat in the weeds there in the middle of the big dock against the bank, threw it back as it was only about 2 lbs if that. I'm thinking tomorrow might be better before the storms move in.
