Does anyone know anything about George Lake in the Vinemont area?i just heard about it from my mothers neighbor this weekend.
Well I have fished it some out of a canoe several years back. I was fishing for bass back then. Buddy of mine used to ease over there on his lunch and catch some nice bass on top water around the boat launch area. Never have fished it for crappie. I have not fished it in over 10 years but it does not seem like there is very much water frontage to bank fish since there are several houses around the bank. Nice lake to explore when you get a kayak.
Just wondered. The guy I talked to caught several nice large mouth.didnt know if there were any crappie or not.
I've never heard of it, if there's public access I'd love to give it a try some Saturday.
If I find out anything I'll let you know.flintcreek knows more than I can find out I'm sure.
Take Hwy 31 South in Vinemont...turn Left (East) on 1301 launch is about a mile on the left. 34°13'20.8"N 86°50'19.9"W Paste this in Google Maps.
Lake George is a good little lake to fish. Folks say there "aint any crappie in that lake", so I politely agree and go out and get a few. Easy access and not crowded. Last year was not as productive as the year before but we still managed to find some nice fish.
So there is some crappie in there??
Frost,
