Wondering if anyone on here has used the elite single rod holder? Going to pull the trigger on 8 single rod holders soon, needing some advice!... looks like a great design.

Have you seen the video on their website advertising them? The first thing I noticed was the guy had to use two hands to get the butt of the pole out every time he caught a fish.....not sure if it was the pole or the holder but it was getting hung up each time. Might cause you to lose a lot of good fish, just my initial impression. I really like the looks of the widow maker rod holders

I think he was comparing another brand of rod holder if it's the same video I'm thinking of... I do like the widow maker but not sure if they can't keep them in stock or there was a issue with the design?... everywhere I look they are out of stock
I have a eight pack of the elite rod holders I love them. I have NO trouble getting my rods out of them when I get a strike. They are very well built and dependable. The only draw back I have found is it takes some getting used to adjusting them but when you get them where you want them they can't be beat. Oh and one other thing I get a lot of compliments on how good they look

Call Meatgetter. He can probably get you some C&C WidowMakers. Nothing out there can compare to them.
If you look on line at what most of the Pros use you will see they use C&C Widow Maker or Driftmaster individual rod holders. I prefer Driftmasters because they are very simple to adjust on fly by just pushing them forward or pulling them back. also you might consider a manufacturer with a proven track record of success that will have parts available and also on Driftmasters if you need a part say a nut or screw gets lost ( In water lol) you can always get the parts at your local hardware store for quick repairs.
Just curious can you long line and pull cranks from them Steve off the front. I had thought of single pole holders at one time but was Leary due I like to do all kinds fishing off front boat.
I have fished with the Capps and coleman and only complaint I have is every time I would get rod out for fish I would have to readjust it when put back into holder to keep them level. This was in a friends boat. Could have been the way they were set idk.
I ordered a couple that slide in my versa track to use pulling cranks an catfishing. They do take alittle getting use to on getting the screws set how you want the angle but once that's done you have a tank of a rod holder. Very heavy duty built. I plan on ordering at least a couple more.
Cachalot,
do you mean the up and down movement of the rod tip is tough to get right because of the way locking mechanism works? or just takes some getting used to learning how to lock them... saw they offer a HD version with the thicker bar as well.
thx
