3-5 mph for me. It just happens to be where my big motor likes to idle.

My boat won't go 40 mph. :eek: However, my transducer is bolted to the bottom of my boat (got rid of rooster tail and engine blockage issues) and I git some good looks at 20mph. Rough water, well it is a different story.

Yes 455kHz has more range - with less detail = better for seeing all the way to the edge of the display ...Quote:

I use each - for what it does best - (dependent on if I want to see detail under the boat ... Or if I want to find stuff farther away from the boat) ...
