Debbie was cutting the front yard on the John Deere L-130. She went to back up and the engine died. I tried to crank it for over and hour, even with a jump start, can't hear a click anywhere around the engine. Where to start looking for problem?

starter solenoid

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
What G said. Be my best guess.
Could be one of the safety switches stopping it from doing anything.
You have a seat switch, brake switch and a PTO switch and all have to work or the starter will not work.
Alot of lawn mowers have a safty switch to shut the engine down when you back up with the mower deck engaged also. Like scrat said all must be working for engine to start.
Battery is dead, been using a jump start on it all season long without a problem. Sometimes after running it for a while I'll shut it off and the battery will crank it.
I jumped out the solenoid and it started this morning. Everytime I got off of it I would pull the park lever and it stayed running. Hauled limps to the road for a new bonfire pile a few times and a few loads of firewood to the rack. I started to park it in the barn but left it out in the yard instead. I shut it off and it wouldn't click again.
I'll go to Tractors and Things at Hernando tomorrow and get a solenoid.
Might as well get a new battery too
Just a reminder. Don't forget these mowers also have a fuse.
