question about front deck on bass boats.....
Looking at using my Cumberland Crappie double seat mount on the front deck of a glass bass boat. I am concerned that this will put to much stress on the outside rod lockers on the front deck. I know that fishermen walk all over the front decks of their boats without any concern, but it just seems to me that the constant pressure of a seat base on top of a deck hatch would eventually spring the hinge or bent/warp the compartment cover.
Most crappie boats with multiple seat mounts on the front do not have this issue, but most under 20 foot glass boats have the two rod lockers that would fall directly under the footprint of any double seat mount. Do any of you guys that use double seats on the front of your glass boats have any regrets/concerns about this decision.
If I drop the coin on a new bass rig, I really do not want to do anything that will cause unneeded wear on it.
