My wife & I want to come down there next winter. We want to camp where it's good fishing. We plan to stay the winter. If anyone could head us in the right direction, we'd be grateful. We like to fish Crappie & Bluegills (Bream) Thanks, Crappie 1

I would follow the fish and not commit to one camp ground or body of water. I would follow this forum and fish all the lakes, bayous and swamps. That would be living the dream!
Larry, you just going to bypass us and go down there?:Rofl Can't say I blame you the past two winters being like they have here.
Hi Cray: I'm just looking for someplace a little warmer. You guys are the greatest and treated us the best. Ya'll will always be our friends.
I sure don't blame you for that at all. You find a nice place I may just have to load up and come visit. How is Sandy and the Grand Baby?
Larry.....I think I may go to Florida next winter and fish with Slab
One of our guys (CajunSlabStalker) has put together a list of places to launch, camp & eat around Henderson Lake.....that is where we are having a get together on March 28 next month......he did this for all the out-of-towners who are coming in.....here is the link......look in the "sticky's" for more Henderson info....

Nice map CSS.....
I agree it's best to follow the fish however Lake D'Arbonne is a good place to start. Winter fishing here is normally great. It has a good state park and a couple of other RV parks. It's also a short drive to some other good lakes such as Caney, Claiborne and Poverty Point to mention a few. It's also a short drive to West Monroe or Ruston where you can find almost anything you need.
