I second what Southern Chuter said, I would start with Darbonne, it is a great winter lake. Saline Larto is also a good winter lake but is a bit difficult to find. Toledo can be good at times also. Hope this helps some.

For what it's worth and if ya planning on fishing, I would plan 3- month long stays at 3 different parks. I would recomend state parks they are very nice in Louisiana. Also they have a 30 day limit cause they do not want to become snow bird camps. Just one chubby guys opinion but I would do a month each at Chicot state park, fassie point state park and Toledo bend. They all have boat launches and good facilities and off season discounts and honor golden age pass ports.
Cypress Bend or San Miguel Parks on Toledo Bend are great for fishing. You can set up facing the lake at Cypress Bend. Very cheap. I think about $300 a month including electricity. Phone service will be sketchy and no wi fi. But you will be close to fishing. And golf if you desire.
Wow!! Thank you guys so much for all the great information. We surely appreciate it. Hope to meet up with some or all of you next winter. THANKS!!!
