If you are still ising yhe vro oil pumps they need to be changed every 10 years. Mine failed last Wed and now I got a hole on #1 pistpn and possible broken crank rod. New pump $500 . New powerhead and rebuild $4500. Your pick. When mine is fixed there will be No vro pump pn the boat anywhere.[emoji31]
VRO- good idea, bad solution.
Yep--VRO cost me about $500 and then a fishing line cut the seal on my lower unit. I didn't realize it until I started having gear teeth bouncing around inside. Boat is still parked.

Man I'm sorry to hear that Sir. Got lucky with the one I had years ago, started leaking and was replaced before failure with a standard pump. Break Out Another Thousand...rings true once again.
Wish it was only 1 thousand. Might get lucky when they tear it down and just need a cyl bored out.

I feel your pain. I traded in my VRO pump (along with the rest of the motor) for a new fourstroke.
