There is some big ones there. Never had that much luck, just a few here and there by the airport.
I have been catching in the trees and pads for the past 3 weeks. Grizzly jigs tipped with a crappie bite.

Should be getting close, full moon this week is usually the start.
I'll be there Memorial Day weekend and a couple of times afterward. I hope they are biting by then and this wind lays day some.

I use the Chartreuse color. I avoid the glitter ones as I always end up looking like I have been to a strip club :)
I think the nibbles help. Maybe not so much the color. I think it is that the scent or flavor seems to get them to hold the jig a bit longer giving you more time to set the hook. I am jigging with a long pole around trees with this set up so that little bit of time for the hook set really seems to do the trick. I have caught plenty on just jigs as well though.
Caught a lot of gills jigging pads with a grizzly jig tipped with a wax worm. Black jig with a red head.
