I am thinking about making the 1 1/2 hour drive to Henderson on Friday. Wondering how the recent rains have affected it. Can someone give me some information? I have only fished it once before. Thanks

Don't bother Tiger. Water is on the rise right now. Went last Saturday and water was messed up except for a few areas. Caught a few fish, but not as many as the week before. The rain had nothing to do with it. It's the snow melt from the north and the rain from up there too. The gates are open also. Maybe you may get some better information on here later. I am in the process of deciding where to go other than Henderson this week..
Thanks for the report, might save me a trip
i would say go!!!! that water being a little red or muddy hasn't stopped the fish i caught yesterday and the water was stained you just have to find them alot of people are still catching on the cypress trees i have moved off the trees and started fishing the grass on the drop off only about 2 1/2-3 foot deep just chose your jig color wisely i use jigs that are more black and dark colors in muddy water and brighter or lighter colors in clear water the jig that "EVERYBODY" is using ain't always the best!!! muddy water or stained water use black and orange or black and red sacalait love crawfish clear water i like to use chartreuse and some other color that is light maybe olive, pink, blue,or solid chartreuse just think about it when chosing i mean how many black and chartreuse or blue and white jigs have they seen the past few weeks throw something differant and watch what happens!!!! oh and yes A Courville i do know henderson pretty good i live about a 1/2 mile from kerns landing and fish almost everyday even if its for only a hour and a half or less!!!!
