Giving up on braided line and going back to Mono
Man, i've tried my hardest to switch to braided line in the past year and I just can't do it. I have missed so many fish trolling it's sickening. Not to mention that I have caught fewer fish overall since I put braid on my reels last winter. I don't know what I could be doing wrong or maybe I'm just a poor fisherman but I just don't get any good results from braided line. Going to reload on mono tomorrow and get back to basics. Anyone else have problems catching fish with braided line?

Use mono leaders on braided , this should make a big diff in missed fish, in my opinion , give it a try!
You can take the boy out of the country but you can't take country out of the boy

Are you missing them on the strike or are they pulling off before you get them to the boat?

I use Wally Marshall Tightline Specials and his new rods for Lews from 18' long down to 10'. They are the stiffest trolling rod that I know of.

For me the mono would be the weak link and would defeat the purpose of using braid to start with. I use it so I get my baits back, if not there would be days where I would lose 20-25 Crankbaits.
