Fishing in the winter

I have never fished in the winter on cold days. I hear tell they bite good on days like today. I've been out in my boat in the shed rerigging some poles and thinking about what it would be like on the lake. Bet it's 10 degrees colder out there, and after 30 minutes this morning I had to come in and thaw out my fingers so I could go back and rig another pole. I've got to figure out how to dress in this kinda weather too, and it's not really that cold this morning. It's my hands more than anything else. Any suggestions?

Take more clothes than you need.....You may need them.

Try ya a pair of those new rechargeable battery operated gloves. Can't remember where I saw them, but I think it was Bass Pro. They make a coat, bibs, pants, caps, gloves, etc. like that now.

under armors man, get you some. Those and some Bibs. I love the winter time fishing but man, when you have to reach in for a minner. BRRRRRRRRRRRR LOL I think the coldest I've ever fished in was a couple years ago when there was a 1/2 inch of Ice over in Pelahatchie Bay near the bridge. I got just outside it on the river channel and catch the fool out of em. It was scary breaking Ice with the boat though. Felt like I was on Deadliest Catch

OH, get you some of BIG hand warmers from BP. The ones in the pack you just open and they start warmin. Put a couple in each coat pocket to warm your hands. Retieing is rough when you can't feel your fangers

This is what I use on really cold days. I have mine sittin in a milk crate behind me. It helps out more than you would think.

Dont go till it gets over 45deg.

Feet and Hands. I bought a pair of those booties by Artic Shield for hunters that slip on over your shoes that work pretty good. Got one of those hand warmer things that go around your waist like football players use. It has a pocket inside to put chemical warmers in. got both from BassPro. Like DD said i cant do anything when fingers get cold.
