Trojan battery's are the best I have found yet and they last a long time, they hold a charge like no other battery on the market, I have. 24v trolling system and I can fish between 2 and four days without a recharge depending on what type of fishing I do, if I am fishing a bass tournament I can get 2, 8 hr days out of one charge, if I am spidder rigging for crappie I can get four days of fishing from one charge. These battery's are a little pricy but mine last me around 3 to 4 years before needing to replace them, I fish on average every weekend and most every afternoon in the spring and summer months. You can buy the 27 series Trojans at Conway tire and battery in Conway AR.Quote:

Get the Golf Cart Batteries. Best on the market. I have them. Less than the Trojans, and more reserve amps. I do sell Trojans, and Optima also, but I use the 12v golf cart batteries from US Battery. I can pull cranks for 8hrs at 2mph into the wind, and still have 50% charge left.
I never leave my batteries uncharged overnight if I can help it. It isn't good for em. First thing I do when I get home is plug in the charger!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info I am looking into new batteries as well. My exides keep dying in under a year. This time it has only been 8 months.
I agree that sometimes it's impossible to charge when you are in certain situations. The US Battery still has more reserve amps than the Trojans, Optimas, Marine Masters, etc., and they are about 75-100 bucks less money. I've been fortunate enough in the boat business to have tried all the batteries out there, and it's the 12v golf cart batteries for me.Quote:

I know those too!!! I use whatever I have at the time, but I PREFER a cranker with at least 850 CCA, 1000 is better. Most heavy duty crankers hold up well. I've used the 450-550 CCA's, but they just don't last as long, especially if you discharge them (go fishing) a lot.Quote:
