Why do teenagers think they know all?

I had the kiddo set up in easy classes, she only has two, n is out by 11:30am...she went n changed her 2 classes from human anatomy to Biology 2...(she passed Biology 1 by the skin of her teeth) and Personal Safety to Personal Finance ( she can barely count out change from a twenty without screwing it up).... Then wants to come home n fuss cause the classes r too hard, n she can't change back.
Is there ever a time when they start listening to their parents? N when, so I can begin the countdown...

Mista been a fella in them she wants to see more often! Think it starts fading out at bout 19-20

All I can say is DONT BE HOLDIN YOUR BREATH waiting for it to happen.

Mine signed up fer AP Physics this past year and now that school has started, he decides the other 10 kids in his class are the smart ones that ain't really his type of crowd. Now all of the regular 12th grade science classes are supposedly full and the school won't let him change. Our school thinks they gonna force him to take the class. He can pass it, but it'll be a struggle and he really needs to get his gpa up a little.

LOL...I have a 23 year old and a 30 yr old. They both still know more than I do. Dont believe me? Just ask 'em.:rolleyes:

I hear ya, that was her issue...which is why I selected "easy A" classes....n then she goes n oblivitates it...pfffft.

Guess I'm just gonna need to pray then, cause I'm about at the end of my rope....n her having kids just SCARES me...(shudder)

Mine tried that on her mom a couple years ago, didn't fly to far cause Mom got access to States web and checks that stuff once a week. She gonna start her senior year in a couple of weeks and it is finally starting to click. I think they have to get out,get a job and have kids before it ever reallly starts to sink in.

Yall don't jump all over me for this. But this topic is fresh to me this week. I just found out that next year the high school wont offer AP classes (except for math) for the freshman year. I was one of the kids that "just got by" in high school just to find out when I got married and had a family, "just getting by" didn't really make for the lifestyle I wanted for my wife and kids. So after working fulltime and going to UoM full time, I spent several years obtaining my Electrical Engineering degree. Now that I've got a few miles in between then and now, I don't want either of my kids to have to struggle thru those years I did. My oldest girl is in all the AP classes, I think we need to encourage our kids to be the best they can be and not go into adulthood with mentality of just what it takes to get by. Gives em a a great foundation when it come college time and scholarship evaluation. Nothing comes easy without some hard work.
