I know that the ones that longline use a Road Runner type jig head most of the time but what kinda grub or jig body do you use?

Look at the second picture, Joel uses a Gant jig.

i'm also interested in longlineing. any info would be appreciated What speeds, line diameter, reels and rod type, how far behind the boat do you pull these jigs?
John, no expert here but I use minnow head or round head jigs that I have tied or will put a curly tail jig or I am using this year the Lake Fork baby shad (2 1/4 inch) here is a picture of some heads I just finished up painting eyes on and sealing them, also this is the curly tail jigs that I use. This company I help to get started as a vendor at Walmart when I was in mgmt there and he wound up starting in Florence Alabama and then got in the entire company nationwide. It was a mom & pop setup and now the son has took it over. Jimmy Edwards is his name and he is christian man and a great fisherman. Here is a link to his site

I get the hooks from a guy off ebay, I pour them up myself and paint them. Think the hooks are 1/0 and these in the picture are 1/4oz heads.Quote:

I will use 2 jigs, lots of time 2 1/4oz or 1 1/4oz and 1 1/8oz. I do know that some that fish at Pickwick only use 1/4oz all the time.Quote:
