Caney's paddletail mold

Jason began to offer a nice paddletail mold a while ago and I really liked the way the tail appeared so I ordered it. Having been on vacation it of course came while I was away and this morning I opened the box and made a beeline for the microwave and plastic. The colors are all re-melts.
I tried a split color in the body section on a few and a two color split at the tail. All of these came off flawlessly and the tail section is something else for action. I tried to get a pic that showed the design of the tail button but this soft plastic doesn't like to stay still for me and would roll around even when simply laying there...lol.

For those who are familiar with the Culprit tail button on their old paddletails, this is very much like it in shape and not at all bulky. The design is clean and this mold shoots beautifully.

I bet that tail gets good swimming action, do them come in 1 1/2 or only 2 inch like in picture?

Just the two inch. This is a really nice sized bait and I don't think sunfish are going to have any problem getting hooked up.

Is this an old mold or the one the Baitman designed after he won the contest? Either way I saw it yesterday and ordered it. I am hoping that the tail section is limber enough that I can pop the end off and make a stinger tail. I also like the way the mold is cut top to bottom so I can pour 2 color baits since I don't have any fancy tools just one injector and a silicone egg poacher to inject with. I am going to try my hand at making an aluminum plate so I can get true laminate baits soon. Anybody got any other DIY tips on how to maximize my bait variations without breaking the bank.?

lcookie, you'll love this mold and yes the button can be snipped off and a stinger will be the result. The cavities are polishesd so much that these baits shine like no tomorrow. Its a new mold, I saw the listing notice go up while I was on the site there and ordered my mold right away. I am absolutely happy with mine.

it looks like an outstanding bait we will probably order some of these in the future the action and these should be terrific.

Great job on the design! I walked down to the river behind our house a while ago and tossed a jig with this plastic on it just to see how it behaved in the water. Great action. No fish, but great action.

u can use aluminum foil for a laminate plate
