i get many shoots for each piece. i fold a piece in half and cut it to fit and place the folded side up. a whole roll will last you a long time. you just pull one side out and shoot the second color.
I Have tried every way to make a divider plate and by far hands down the best it the thin aluminum plates you get from hobby lobby. Cost like 5 bucks last forever and shoot a perfect divide. I have them for all my Caney creek and Jacobs molds. Just shoot demold half shoot again... Bam 2 colors and but the other half back in and shoot again
I use aluminum no trespassing signs a trim them up with tin snips and a side grinder. Put the unpainted side down on the side You want to stay in the mold. cheap, can make one in 20 minutes, thin, last forever.CF
Ha yeah were you trespassing when u got those signs??!!:)
Looks like another excellent mold design by Keith.
Man I'm glad I don't pour plastics!!!!!!!!!!! I'd really be broke!!! I'll pour the jigs, paint em and tie em, but the plastics I will buy!!!!!!!!!!!
Mo...sorry...but you didn't type slow enough for me to understand :dono Do you put the aluminum plate inside the mold...and clamp both sides shut onto it? Do you cut it down just big enough to cover the cavities...but not the vents?
You end up with 2 halves...correct? Take one out inject...but the other back in...inject.
I'm not mechanically inclined....to say the least...but I can follow simple directions!
