Odd Head Size

1/32 size 4...I made 250 of these last week and I thought man this was a odd size...Since then i have poured 1100 of these. Any one else use this size? To tie or use grubs on???

Yes and I pour a 1/8 head with a #6 sickle. Silly fish will inhale the thing. Gets it to the bottom very quick also. Sometimes the you need a lighter or heavier jig to do a job. That is why I carry so many jigs with me when I go out. I don't think its odd just another tool to use.

just seems like a small head for a bigger hook lol...I to have poured some 1/8-6....Guess Im use to putting a size4 on a 1/16 or 1/24.

Yes my friend but remember you would not use a slege hammer to drive finish nails or a tack hammer to bust up concret. But you better have both in your tool box. Both have their place and so do "odd size" jigs.

Oh the jigs I could make with those. Swimming leeches, egg sucking leeches, swimming polywogs, too many to name. A little colored hot glue over the head for an egg sucking leech would be a KILLER pattern for steelhead here. Light weight so it works right under a float and a base for adding a gel egg or hot glue egg in front and still enough hook bend to work with, if you can't tell, I'm drooling! Now if you made them in bullet proof hooks I would be in real trouble.

When you make your own jigs you always find yourself subbing hooks larger or smaller trying to make that killer bait. That's why making your own tackle is so much fun, you always have something that your buddies don't!!!!!!!!!

Fatman thats a big 40/10 roger. As they say nessesity is the mother of invention or if you live in the middle of nowhere like I do. Use what you got on hand.

yea pbug, I have made about a 100 so far to tie marabou jigs on. have not tried them yet tho. used sickle hooks, and had to take the dremel tool to the mold first, but it was worth it I think.
