Here's what hitting a stump will do to your hull. I figure it was a rebar that someone had driven into the top of a stump but it did cause some good ole hull damage on the bay boat. Here's the damage it caused. Looks like the hull had already been damaged some and fixed when I got it though so I may have just knocked out an existing patch

I called upon a couple folks that knew what they were talking about and they gave me some sound advice on how to fix the problem. I went to my local NAPA and got a Fiberglass repair kit and it really is easy to fix Fiberglass. I was told to make sure I wore rubber gloves as it'll have to wear off once it dries. No problem, got that taken care of. Really simple to be honest. Take the large can of solvent and pour however ammount you'll need in a clean mixing container and add some of whats in the clean tube which is the hardener. The kit comes with everything you'll need

the material, cut it out and then dip into the solution that you mixed up and place onto the cleaned surface that you are repairing. Once you do that, spread it around smoothly and make sure you have no air bubbles, then let dry. MAN that stuff is sticky and does dry hard as a rock. Now all I have to do is sand it down and paint it. This SHOULD be as good as new cause I put 2 coatings of the material and solution on the gaping would my boat had

but this part of the boat will be hitting the water surface when I;m on plane and it wouldn't last to long. I'm TRYING to learn to do things the right way these days
"measure the material, cut it out then dip it in the solution". Huh? What material did you use to fill the void from the hole? You skipped a step? I'll give you an exemption for just one more post to explain yourself.
And another thing.....why do you ignert idjits on RB drive rebar in everything anyhow? How stewpit is that?

If that's where I think it is.....skip the repaint on the repair and cover it with a hamby's light duty or a keel guard (I prefer Hamby's). You need one anyhow.
