Any reports from Cedar creek?
Had some friends that went there Friday and according to them fish were not biting. They said they talked to several others that had the same luck. Also said that parking spaces were scarce....go figure!!!!
anybody ........thinking of going Saturday Morning !!!!!!!!
anybody?.........been wanting to go
My wife and I went Monday night and didnt get a bite except for a channel cat that swam by and got hooked in the back. Didnt see anyone else who caught anything.
... and see if you can hookup with him. :p
He seems to be the only one I know, catching anything of value from Cedar Creek. :D
I've found a pattern that works good during the spawn, and one "honey hole" that usually holds fish, later on ... but, it was empty last time I fished it :o
I don't know about you guys, but I'm glad to see that the "moss" is (mostly) gone. I just wish there was some pads or water grass growing there. I think it would benefit the Black Crappie, & the Bass.
... cp
CP fish I have been catching are in grass. I think it is called hydrilla. havent caught any that have not been in the grass.
Then, would that mean that you're fishing back in the back end of the lake, or in one of the creek arms
Ain't much grass or moss around the area between the dam & the next launch ramp up ... at least not where we fished :p Though, I will admit that we did stay out on the main lake, mostly, and on the same side of the lake as the dam launch ramp/beach. ;)
Were you scoping out the grass with the depth finder, or were you pulling some up with your hooks ?? If you can find a grass bed in good water depth, then you've found where the Crappie are gonna be hanging out ... esp Black Crappie. Used to be grass/moss around the rip rap of the dam launch ramp parking lot ... and you could stand on the bank & catch 5-6-7" dinks from daylight til 11ish. That's where they placed some of the buckets with stakes, but even they don't produce much, anymore. The grass/moss is still there, but mostly on the bottom ... and it doesn't grow up to the surface, like it used to do.
