This is a picture of my damaged skeg. How should I go about getting it repaired considering I broke a significant piece off?
During this past week, I tore up a trolling motor and now my skeg!

first of all do you still have the piece that broke off? if you do it might be welded back on. the housing will have to be stripped out so the internal parts wont get to hot. proably will have to replace the seals and of course the lube. if you don't have the other piece then you will have to get a new housing and have your gears installed in it.sounds like your having luck like i do. hope this helps. good luck.
Take a man hunting or fishing for a day he'll eat for a day.
Teach a man to hunt or fish and he'll eat for a lifetime.Thumbs Up
I have done similar damage. Find a good aluminum welding person. They can put it back together, change the oil and go fishing. If you have broken it onto the gear case I would replace it all. Good luck bro....
Hey slab, I have the same ding in my garage wall.
I do not have the piece that broke off. I will be calling a couple of places tomorrow trying to get it repaired. Hopefully, I will be able to get the boat back within a week. I don't want to miss fishing this weekend.
GrumpyLoomis, I see you noticed my ding in the garage wall from pushing the boat back to far one day. I have another one on the side garage wall from pushing the boat to far into the corner.
Outside of the guided fishing trip I took with Feelay to Sardis, this week has been brutal on my boat. Thank goodness I just got my 2010 bonus at work.
look at it like this its gonna better all in due time
fishing from the couch in front of the tv doesnt count
