    Default Look out

Well I just got my garmin echomap 50dv chartplotter/fishfinder. After months of wasting time; asking, reading and rethinking this is what I came up with. Look out fish, I'll find ya and mark where I got your ass,,,, I hope!!!

If i had waited one month before i got my lowrance hds-10, i would have gotten a garmin. I need a big screen for these old eyes tho. Went to a seminar where they were talking about the new Garmins and i was very impressed. He explained chirp and how advanced it is over all the other units. How it updates so much faster. My next unit will be a Garmin. May upgrade my 997 bird on my console this fall. Once you get the hang of using the gps, you'll wonder why you waited so long to get one.

Well I got it on and love it. The only problem is that I spent too much time talking to Chaunc and by the time we got it on and back into the water that freakin storm came and chased us off. I did get most of it set up.

It was good seeing ya again Chaunc. And yes I took your advice and brought it home.

Shellback Im gonna message you some questions if that's ok?

Chauncey, I have the HDS 10 with structure scan, have you had any problems with your structure scan( if you have it)? My second structure scan is on its way to California for the same problem as the first box. Sucks for all the money you spend on this stuff and it doesn't last!
I just purchased a Garmin 50dv for my new kayak I haven't installed it yet but, I can't wait to get it mounted and on the water to see what it can do! If you guys have any screen shots from the 50 post them up. I will not be able to get it on the yak till early part of next week so, I need to live vicariously thru you till then.

Bob, i didn't get the structure scan package. I'm using mine up front and i dont care much having sidescan up there. Very rarely used it when i had the 1197 up there so i just got the unit. Just ordered a trolling motor transducer for it today. Dont like the way the transom ducer fits on my troller. Hope they get your SS right this time.
