KY Lake bluegill rumor?

I had a guy in the studio today who mentioned the largest bluegill I've ever heard from this area was caught a few days ago on KY Lake. Word is it was over 3 pounds and the guy took a couple of photos then dressed the fish!! I trust this guys word and don't doubt his source. Anybody heard any such report?

The guy who reported the bluegill said he and his wife bagged 55 quart bags of bluegill fillets last week. He had 4 Sunday over 1 pound with the largest at 1 pound 4 ozs. I've got to get out more often!!

A 3lb'r is not unbelievable although I would like to see the pic too, till then I would doubt it. If it was a true 3lb + fish, my guess is that it was not a bluegill but a probably a shellcracker.

If the guy put it under the knife and since it does not qualify for a state record, I doubt that he is trying to make it headline news.
