A newbie here with probably an old question. Is there much much difference between the new moon and the full moon as far as the gills or the crappie are concerned?

Don't take this as hard fact because I'm digging way back in my brain for this:
As others have stated earlier in the thread. A full moon is the top most peak of the phase with 3 days on either side of the full moon as being progressively "better" fishing waxing and progressively "worse" fishing waning relatively speaking.
This is where I get a little fuzzy:
Now I believe also that the new moon can be considered a secondary peak. Not nearly as strong of a lunar influence as a full moon but a peak none the less. And the 3 days post and prior to the new moon will be less influential as their full moon counterparts.
Then again I could just be full of it?:D

Was hoping to hear something like this. Kind of makes sense that would be the case. Most of my fishing in the past has been done with a speargun offshore. In recent years I've done inshore angling for trout, flounder and redbass. I've always has rotten luck at the time of a full moon with those species. However I hear from the locals that the full moon is tops for the black drum.
I took my flyrod to my favorite bluegill pond yesterday morning. This was TWO days after the full moon and I honestly felt like I was a day early. I caught about 25 gills, but only 4 big ones(10+ inches). Most were the 4 - 7" variety. Generally this pond is awesome for large bluegills. I also landed ten bass weighing up to 3-1/2 lbs. Awesome day with the flyrod, but I was hoping to bring home some big bream for the fryer:rolleyes:. I'll bet this morning would have been fantastic with some hungry females coming off the beds.
