Can't be too different than here in Georgia. The shellcrackers get going in April and the bream follow soon afterwards. They start spawning no later than May.

Not sure what you mean by "perch". Yellow perch?

Yea Yellow Pearch. I hear they are good eating.
I can catch the little briim all day but the big ones seem to be hard for me to find. Not sure if the small ones get the bait faster or if I am fishen the wrong spot or time of year. Thanks

Unfortunately, I'm not a yellow perch expert, but I'm sure somebody who is will weigh in. The ones I have caught came on small crappie jigs. Nightcrawlers and minnows would be good live baits.

When I'm catching lots of little bream, I set my cork about 18 inches deeper if the water is deep enough. They seem to like to hang out under the little guys. If the water isn't deep enough to do that, I'll just fish out away from where I'm catching the little ones in hopes of finding deeper water.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Well, here in Arkansas, the best times I have found are a few weeks either side of Memorial Day. When I'm catching small bream, I put on a heavy drop shot rig and it gets down below the little ones where the big boys are holding out.

Don't know about Yellow Perch, but you can fill your ice chest around Memorial Day. Carry bunches of crickets and worms etc., and have fun.

The fish u refer to, in WI are caught all year around. At the moment I am driving on the lakes and cutting a hole through 30 inches of ice and catching perch and panfish in about 12-20 feet of water using waxies, spikes and other grubs. Last week drove out on L/MI - Green Bay about 10 miles out, in about 40 feet and really caught some nice perch, 12 plus inches, on minnows.

My favorite time to fish for sunnies is the whole month of may, esspecialy the latter part in slower streches of rivers. The nolachuky and the holston.

Default When their on in Tenn.

Crappie stay turned on till mid to late April. Then the shellcracker start when the moon is full in may and will turn on again in june during full moon. Look for them in the shallows around gravel bars and old roadbeds in 6 to 2 ft of water wax worms or nightcrawlers seem to be the best.
