Two lakes I fish for gills are ultra clear, and very deep.[dale hollow, lake cumberland]Both have large gills.I have caught dinks as deep as 20ft, hearing that bigger fish can even go deeper, I'm wondering how deep some of you guys have fisehed. My system is usually a small slip sinker, and 10/2 braid line. But at times a 2ounce bottom bouncer, and a snelled hooh about 3 ft above it. use meal worms that deep.Have heard of 9 inch and better gills caught deeper.I use my bow mount motor and troll steep drop offs, but still cant the hawgs.

thing is in them lakes your just as likely to catch a hawg at 3 feet as 30 feet and ifyour at dale hollow i darn sure would be fishing for something else besides gills lol
i have only fished cumberland and dale hollow
with my doctor a few times each as he now lives on cumberland
anyhow we only fished striper and musky on the 2
oh we did how ever have to fish a bottle of sun block out of the water that fell off the back of his play boat man that thing is fast
next time i go though when the striper and musky arent biting im gonna do some gill fishing and try if deep because i dont see why they wouldnt be deep i bet thats where they go in winter
is that a bite...YEAH FISH DONT HAVE HANDS
