Here is a bluegill I caught last year in a pond that was stocked 7 or 8 years ago and then just ignored. I caught it on a 2wt. fly rod with one of the first flies I ever tied. It was also the first fish I caught on a fly rod that made me actually use the drag of my reel to fight it. That was probably my most satisfying bluegill catch to date.

It was just a hair shy of 10 inches long and a touch over 2 inches thick. We guesstimated it to be around 1.25 to 1.5 pounds since we didn't have a decent scale on hand.
