    I've caught only one catfish that has had these.... so I threw it away.

    I get the occaisional gill that has a couple of them, Like IllinoisAngler said, use the tip of your knife to pop them out. I know they're "extra protien" but don't care for the idea of eating worms.

    Parasites, They go away when the hit the hot oil. We have been eating them all our lives.
