Looking for a lure
I've been reading all the good posts and thought maybe someone would have an idea where to find a lure I used back in the 50's. It was called a 'guinea tail'. It was an in-line spinner that had propeller type spinners that were painted red and white. The summer I turned twelve I worked hauling hay and saved up enough money to buy a fly rod (bamboo) with an automatic reel. My uncle loved to fish the small rivers and creeks where we lived and we used to wade and fish with poppers etc. When it got slow we would tie on one of the really small spinners and wear out the bluegill, sunfish and occasionally a bass or two. I was looking at the thread about favorite panfish baits and remembered this lure. The last one I saw was in the early 70's on lake Eufaula, Al. A guy was fishing for bass and had one about 7 or 8 inches long (they came in sizes from about an inch up) with a telescoping rod about 9 feet long with a couple of feet of line. He was running the thing across the top of the water arount stand-up trees and it made a wake about like a 25hp outboard. Anyway, if anyone knows if they are still made somewhere I would appreciate it. I googled and couldn't find anything.
