Check out the results from this carp tourney. The winning team (2 men) had 3,018 pounds (yep -- 1.5 tons) of carp in 50 hours of fishing. And they didn't even weigh fish under 10 pounds!

    Default Interesting post

I have a friend whose son is married to a girl from Japan. He went over to Japan to visit her folks and told me there were small Koi (sp) carp ponds at many of the homes. He said that almost all of them have some bluegill in them and they don't eat them. He said it would be no problem getting permissinn to fish all you wanted. He also said those most of those gills are huge from nibbling on reminates of the feed they give the Koi.
He also reflected that the general feeling there was that gills are trash fish. lol

John, I think you're just trying to yank my chain on this, but you obviously don't know what you're talking about (again.)

Since you're in Illinois, you should check out these carp guys. There is nothing unsophisticated about what they do:

    http://www.geocities.com/fishcba/

You could watch one of their matches or, better yet, actually fish against them in a match. If you choose the latter, you will finish dead last. I guarantee it.

You could also check out the tackle and tactics of the Illinois CAG. They are planning their 2008 fish-in's as I type:

BTW, if you fish against those guys, you will also finish dead last.
