I don't have any measurements and I only caught a dozen or so of these fish myself, but I definitely have seen some prolific fish come from the federal grounds up in Shawnee, IL. My grandfather retired from working the Vienna correctioanal facility up there, and he has a pass to get us out there. But holy cow, in the spring/summer there are these huge rock bluffs that overhang right into the waters edge, and hiding directly under the edge of the water is a huge hollow under you. You can just dip a cane pole in there with no bobber at all and pull out monster blue gill like clockwork. I see my grandpa quite often because I drive back down to that part of country once a month for drill, I may hit him up and see if he'll take me down there and I'll get some pics :D.

My biggest was close to 10".Haven't caught one like it in awhile.Caught a 9" Pumpkinseed last week.Don't see many that size, they are mostly smaller.I love the colors on them.I think they bite and fight harder.
