    You could cast them with a casting bubble. It's like a bobber, but it's made out of clear plastic. Bass Pro and Cabela's carry them. Walmart might carry them as well. You could probably even use a plain ol' red and white round bobber to start. I'd recommend fly fishing, though. It's more fun than the bubble, and it's not that difficult.

    Bugs in the #8-12 range would be good for bluegills. Walmart usually has a good topwater selection, as does BPS, Cabela's or any good fly shop.
