Default Winter Float Fishing @ the Pond

I’m trying to get into as many hours fishing I can before the storm hits tomorrow and the temps turn Arctic .
Remembering catching a few gills during winter float fishing , I put together a couple 6’6” St Croix Avid UL’s last night in anticipation of giving it a try today . Reels were a Shimano Miravel s2000c and a Daiwa Fuego 1000LT . Both were spooled with 2# moss green P-line CXX .
Cloudy with light winds for the most part. Just enough to hinder my cast distance and blow a bow into my line .

I used a weighted Mr. Crappie snap on float about two feet above my handtied Mini Trout Magnet tungsten bead jig combo . I used a green mini TM to start and switched to a black one on my second rod . Both caught fish .
I think the fish caught today were overall larger than what I was catching on the drop shot .
A green fish started my catching on I believe was my second cast . Follow by six nice gills over the next couple of hours.
    The four best ones.

The jig. That’s a size 10 Mustad hook and a 4mm tungsten slotted bead .

Nice gills and tiny jig fishing under a weighted float. That's my style of fishing. Looks like it paid off looking at those gills.

Looks like more fish than I’ve found in a minute. Good Job!

Some nice fish, Gill, and decent color for this time of year. Those hand ties look deadly!
