    Default Back to the Pond

Cold front came in last night . Rained until around noon so I got a later start .
Cloudy , windy 12-24mph making it feel like 40 degrees. Actual temp was 49 when I left and when I headed home after an hour and a half’s fishing .
I wore fingerless gloves and my fingers got cold ! My hands actually felt like they were getting use to the temps toward the end .
I took two 5’2” SeaSir UL rods paired with Shimano Soare bb500spg reels , one pooled with 2# P line Floroclear, the other with 2# P line CXX moss green .
I fished the drop shot the whole time , one rod had an olive #12 streamer jig , the other with a #12 black woolybooger streamer . Both caught fish .
I caught one small bass , lost two , one , about 12-13” , right on the edge of the bank , the other one felt bigger , the little size 12 hook just didn’t have a good hookup .
Also caught two bluegills and a beautiful, very colorful shellcracker.
The shellcracker made my day .

You are on a roll, getting out there three times this week. That's great to see. Nice and colorful redear. Haven't caught any Redear myself yet this year but hoping to find a few soon.

Redears are always fun to catch.
If you cast it they will come.
