    Default Winter UL fun fishing

Using a couple 6’ TFO UL Trout and Panfish rods , my Pastime and one of my TFO T&P II rods ; I visited the town pond again this morning for two and a half hours.
Both were paired with Shimano Soare bb 500spg reels , one loaded with 2# P line Floroclear, the other 2# P line CXX moss green .
I’ll be changing the Floroclear to CXX before next trip . I had a 11-12” bass break off while I was attempting to slide it up the bank .

The weather was overcast and windy at times 6-14mph . Temps ranged from 50-54 while I was there .
I ended the trip with six bass and five gills .
All caught on the drop shot , but this trip I tried using a cheap 3.2g spoon without a hook as a drop shot weight .
It worked great . I got good distance , a little farther than with the 1/16 ball weight ; and the spoon slid over the slime and dead moss on the pond’s bottom without getting a blob of algae on it .
I also tried some different streamers that I had tied to use with a flyrod. One with olive green chenille body , olive rabbit fur tail , had olive green rubber legs and was palmered with hackle like a woolybooger.
That’s what caught my biggest bass of around 14” . A nice chunky fish .
A couple other bass was in the 12” range , with the rest fingerings .
The weather has been either too cold or the streets too wet to ride my bike so I’ve turned to fishing for my winter exercise. And I’m enjoying it .
