    Default Didn't get skunked

After a 0 the day before I tried again. I took awhile, probably fished for two hours before I caught first fish of 2026 on a tungsten jig, a small crappie. Only caught four total, hope it gets better today when I go out.Name: IMG_6763.jpg

Good job. That's 4 more than I've caught this year. Hopefully they are more cooperative next trip.

You caught more than I have this year. I'm sometimes more amused on the different fish, fish size, and lures that they bite than I am about quantity--gotta love it when you get that big fish on a tiny jig with light line or a tiny fish (that might qualify as bait) on a big crankbait.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Yesterday was better day for catching. I fished one rod with a 1/32 tungsten #6 hook and other rod with a 1/32 lead head #10 sickle. Alternating between the two I caught 23 total. Caught 9 on tungsten and 14 on the lead head. First six fish were lead but even after that. Water is very cold and slow reeling baits under a float with frequent pauses worked.

What Eagle said!! Good looking fish for January. The neighbors in the pic could be related to those who eat my corn every day across the street, always make me smile.
