    Default Looking but not finding

I’ve been looking for a few brush piles that I know of but no luck finding them on fishing days. The wind hasn’t helped. My last few trips have all produced enough fish to make me happy and a sammich or two had I kept them. The numbers of good fish I usually find are scarce. I always get and enjoy a mixed bag and a surprise fish comes along at times. I’ve also gotten some world record timber trout (snags). Some keep my jigs for decoration, I guess. Last trip out was cool to start but warned nicely into the low 50’s. I’ve taken to checking along steep to sheer rock banks and found enough that I’ll go back again. Using the little tackle, it’s nice to get a tap and set the hook to have the rod stop, then wiggle as he shakes he head. That happened Friday after an almost blank couple of hours. We were pretty even a match, I pulled and he said no. Got him to the net and ha never quit trying to say goodbye but he had a picture to pose for.

Just shy of a couple of pounds and a lot of fun. I got a few short gills with a couple approaching eating size but none that got me excited. This feller could’ve gone to trials for the Olympics, jumping and thrashing was his calling in life.

Not quite 12” he had been paying attention to his brothers, he sure had the fight.
Hope that y’all are ready for and enjoy a Merry Christmas. My family and I have been blessed in so many ways. My prayer is that you don’t have to deal with our health issues and that you all enjoy your family this Christmas and have a great New Year. Now go fishing before the weather turns cold. Again…….Skeet

At least you’re getting after them .
I’ve been biting at the bit to go but can’t get my fishing buddy to commit.
Guess I’m going have to go solo .
The doctors have my wife and I we need more fish in our diet , so I need to pick a spot that’ll have edible fish in it for some grilled fish tacos .
Wishing you and your family have a great Christmas and healthy New Year , Tim !

I like those green and brown fish too. Didn't get any brown bass but the green ones cooperated most of the year. Still some time left this year for some fishing. Supposed to be 72 here on Christmas day.

I’d also heard of the weather getting nice this next week. Next Saturday will be a day for clay targets, weather permitting. These other days during the holiday break will hopefully give me a chance to get my Gdaughter out for some needed paw-paw time on the water, she’s been asking. I’m ready for some o that!

You really can't go wrong with a freshwater fish diet unless you eat it fried all the time. Some deep sea fish, such as tuna, don't need to be eaten daily because of elevated mercury levels.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Hoping for a few medium size gills , crappie, or even a couple of small bass this time of year will do. I have a couple of drinking water reservoirs locally that I’d eat fish out of . Maybe a couple of creeks .
I don’t trust foreign farm raised fish sold in grocery stores.
    Just need to go .

A lot of fish are still on the move here .
don’t know that I’ve ever seen them move so much this time of year !
maybe they will settle down before long ! Keep at it and enjoy the time with your granddaughter .
    Too blessed to be stressed!

That spot sure looks fishy and being out with family makes it even more enjoyable. Hope you found some.
