    Default Brute bluegill

sometimes in a spot we frequent , we encounter a real brute or 2 ....
one bluegill in particular, the last trip was a real brute bluegill , over 10 inches pretty easily ....really thick and really hard fighting .....
none of the sunfish that trip were actually really small ones and my wife also managed a really nice red ear about 11 or 12 inches long that fought like a champ as well .....
all the bream were pretty shallow in deep water at around 3 to 4 foot deep in 10 to 12 foot of water and most of them were biting the duck tail mini jigs
and the red ear took a larger crappie jig if I remember correctly.
    good times for sure
all released to swim off and do what they were doing before we interrupted them

Appropriate name, I bet he was a brute on the end of the line. They’re impressive at that size.

That's a stud !!! Haven't caught a gill that size since my last trip to California in 2019. Got spoiled catching some of those. Been a couple years since I've even caught a 9" but I still keep trying.
