Fun day

Got out to the lake at 7 and was on from the start. First 7 casts produced fun gills around 7" and reached 20 after 30 minutes. Mostly colored up males and then it started while reeling in another gill a bass grabs my gill and takes off and I give it a minute or so swallow it before hooking it. Work it back towards me for a couple minutes and it spits the gill but grabs it again and we start round 2. Same thing having it on for a couple minutes and spit it again but comes back and grabs it again for round 3. This time started jerking rod hard and finally rips gill off the hook. Fun ten minutes even though I never saw it, no jumping. Had two more gills grabbed by bass but didn't get those either. Finished with about 50 gills and a couple 8" redear.
