    Default OK now think I have this Shrimp thing going


    I wanted something to make the head look more real and I think maybe I got it. What do you think?

    I don't think a smaller hook will work as the form of the shell is that long. It's just a #6 on a curved hook. It's not as big as the pic seems as the entire thing is only 1 1/4" long. Even if I use a 4-x-long streamer hook I could only go down to a #8. The hook in the sample pic I am using is bigger even than what I am using. Any regular size hook would take a much bigger size to fit.

    Did you mean smaller than that? If I use a smaller hook the shell would hang off both ends. Maybe I am missing something?

    maybe try a long shankhook since shrimp are pretty long

    I meant same size body, just on a smaller hook. It would hang over the sides of the hook but that would mean less hook showing. Less hook showing would work better.

    I would, but when you go smaller in size like #6 to a #8 they also get shorter.
