Thread: Fished New Year's Day

I waited until it warmed up and didn't start fishing until afternoon. Temps were a balmy 39 with 15 mph winds but with really cold temps forecast it might be the last time for open water for awhile. I hit the local pond and got the skunk off for 2025. Most were small but did catch a mixed bag including a channel cat on New Years Day, a first for me. Thought I had a giant crappie for a minute, really disappointed when the bass came up instead.
