Man, you just made my day - big time!!!
Being house bound due to recent high winds and wind chill factor, all the lures I want to try out sit in my tackle box. It gets a bit depressing at times knowing winter is just around the corner, so I post and watch out for others' ideas that may be of use on a daily basis.
There is this one forum in California I posted on quite a bit in the past that added to my depression. My passion for fishing and sharing tackle-related ideas, most times, either went without reply or as in this one case with ridicule, sarcasm and insult that was supported by his fans.
No one in my local fish & game club or in my American Legion Post see fishing as anything more that dunking a lure and hoping something will bite. Many mostly target bass for tournaments whereas I'm a strike junky no matter the species. When not on the water, for most, it's out of sight out of mind.
Moderation on most forums, and especially on c.com, is vigilant in making sure disagreements stay civil and let the readers make up their minds as to the potential of ideas and experiences presented in good faith meant to help fellow anglers. Needless to say, I deleted as many of my posts and replies on that forum that I could and thanked those few by pm that shared the same ideas and experiences - or at least considered mine like on c.com and a few other forums I post on.
Thanks again,
Much appreciated!
