I just had to go Sunday morning before the heat got up too high. In about 7:30 and out about 11 and I was looking for a shady spot to tie down the boat before the ride home. The sun was brutal! The fish weren’t their usual self. I started the day with another poor man’s tarpon, also known as a lady fish and a small one at that. Very acrobatic and a run that made it fun

These things are extra slimy so his pic was an airborne one.

The area had the feel that someone had been through there and taken some of my friends home. Long stretches of no activity made it kind of a grind in the early goings. I finally got to where some were still around or they began to wake up or whatever. Lots of boat traffic this morning, uncharacteristic for a Sunday morning. Nino was sliding around not far in the other direction from the ramp with about the same results. It was good to be out. I’ve got to work in a little bit so I’ll give you the pics and go to the mines. Thanks for looking and I hope you get out and find some soon…….Skeet

I haven’t seen many crappie lately. The big one pulled free after a good fight, an easy 12” but I think it was an extra large instead of a large. Only got 3 or 4 but it was good to feel the thump in deeper water for a change.
