    hmm....might have to try that

You may know Green Sunfish as "goggle eye" ... but, normally it's a nickname for Warmouth and/or Rock Bass.

    Here's the Green Sunfish :

And here's the Warmouth (top) and Rock Bass (bottom) :

Pictures and coloration aren't the greatest ... but, good enough to distinguish between the three.

Nimrod ..... if I was catching 1/2lb Green Sunfish, I'd be tempted to eat them, myself :D They just don't seem to ever get that big, around here. I have caught some Warmouth that would have gone close to 1lb, but was Bass fishing, so they went back. Got a Green Sunfish in my aquarium, but will turn it loose next year, and replace it with a Blacknose Crappie :p (then I'll "truely" be a "Crappie Pappy" .... LOL!!!!)

    ..............

    ...luck2ya both .... cp

Yea , those Green Sunfish in our streams are plentiful. Some here call them by several names. I love to catch the Warmouths , but they are small here. The Warmouth is what I call goggle eyes.I've caught them in Lake Conway that were good sized. The Shadow Bass and Rock Bass are not found here ,but are in streams in the Ozarks. All have a similar shape but are different fish .
