I just felt moved to say a few words about my adventure and the rabbit hole we all joke about. You all know how I resisted even looking for the hole for a long time. Building the Fenwicks kept me busy and they really perform well. The 5’6” and the 6’ are just an extension of my hand and they’re tough as nails, taking the punishment I deliver fishing among the trash like I do. I was sure that the JDM rods wouldn’t take the beating. Then came the first Presso. It was traded for and it rides my Phenix build. I said to Eric a day or two back that if I had found that rod finished on a rack that I would have put it back. It’s way softer than any rod I’ve had in a lot of years. They work so well together that it started my mind running. All of your reviews and comments about the stuff you buy has educated me about them and built questions in my mind. Being a see one, do one kind of person, I had to find the answers to all those questions. I now have 3 JDM rods and 3 Presso’s and I’ve run out of room in my limited storage space. I can’t leave rods in a corner or such, so some of the other, dusty stuff is finding a new home, and those thoughts used to scare me to pieces. I’ve spent a lifetime gathering rigs that do just what I need them to do. All on a budget, of course, which is part of what made them so precious to me. Seeing them go away now doesn’t affect me like I thought it might. Having them replaced with top shelf gear like I’ve never considered has me looking forward to the next trip like a kid. These rigs are tougher than I ever dreamed. I’ve landed big fish on all of them at least once. The drag on the Presso’s is so smooth and consistent that the lighter line holds up during what have been the toughest fights. The lines take some getting used to but they’re second to none I’ve ever used. To recap and finish, I don’t regret anything about this trip that y’all have patiently helped me along. Thanks to you all and I’m hoping to meet some of y’all as my travels progress, or maybe yours down here. Two seats in my boat and ones empty most times, come fill it…….Skeet
